how to become an English teacher in Korea:

step 1: meet a ton of wonderful Korean people who are kind, hard-working, generous, and friendly!

step 2 (or 3) : get a TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) certificate. shed tears of joy upon completion.

step 3 (or 2) : get a university degree. shed tears of joy upon completion.

step 4: do lots of exciting paperwork.

step 5: have four interviews with Korean schools. get rejected once, reject the next two offers, and never hear back from the fourth school.

step 6: get an incredible job on the fifth try, and be glad that you held out for the right one!
